LANGTANG TREKKING


Langtang Trekking
This is one of the popular trekking destinations of Nepal as well as this area lies to the north of Kathmandu. Mainly the trekking area is covered by Langtang National Park and the total area designated for this park is 1710 sq km that encompasses high mountains and high Himalaya terrain. About one fourth of the park is forest – oaks, maple, rhododendron, chir pine, fir blue pine, hemlock and spruce. The holy Gosaiankunda Lake is situated here. The animal found here are the wild dog, Himalayan red panda, pika, muntjack, musk deer, Himalayan black beer, Himalayan tahr, ghoral, serow, rhesus monkey and the common langur. This region is also an important route for migratory birds. The majority of the local inhabitants here are Tamangs and Sherpas. The most popular destinations for this area are
